The Staff Selection Commission of India conducts a number of recruitment examinations every year, with the sole aim of selecting and hiring eligible candidates for innumerable vacancies across different posts in government services. SSC has declared recruitment examination for the post of Junior Engineers with 192 vacancies in Civil (CPWD), Mechanical (CWC) – 23, Electrical (CPWD) – 186, Civil (CWC) – 82, Civil (MES) – 155, Quantity surveying and contract –13, and Mechanical/Electrical (MES) – 91. The date of examination has declared as 8th April 2012, with the closing date of applications to be 10th February 2012. The age limit is different for different positions, and all the candidates should be within the age of 18-32 years. The candidates should also possess 3 years diploma or the equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institution. The candidates have to appear for a written test, qualifying which they are eligible to appear for a personal interview.

SSC Recruitment 2012 for the post of Junior Translator are yet to be declared, and is one of the most sought after recruitment examinations. The essential qualifications, desirable educational qualification, selection procedure and application details will be available on the official website of Selection Commission, and in the leading employment newspapers. The recruitment examination for the post of Constable will be conducted on 22nd April 2012 with the last date of application being 4th January 2012. Along with the written examination, the shortlisted candidates have to appear in a skill test, evaluating the physical fitness and competency of the selected candidates.

The question pattern for SSC recruitment exams is somewhat similar to that of IBPS bank recruitment examination, with significant importance on General Intelligence and Logical Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General Awareness, and English language.
