There are many things that you need to consider when deciding to start your own coaching or consulting business, from education to business plans to marketing. Here are a things you will need to consider. nn 1. You Have To Love Coaching. Your clients will know, when your heart is not in it and you won't be in top form to help your client in the best way. Besides how can you advise your client to be the best they can be and do what they love, if you are not?nn 2. Do You Want To Own Your Own Business? Coaching may be the thing for you, but is starting and owning your own business? Your life will not just be coaching but you have to run a business as well. This means spending a lot of time acquiring clients, keeping books, managing the office and of course risk etc. Initially, you will probably be doing all these tasks until you earn enough so that you can outsource them. nn 3. Get Qualified. Life coaching is a profession. You may be excellent and experienced at what you do now, and you may help and motivate people around you really well, you may have a lot of life experience, or read a lot of self help books but coaching is not something that only has to come natural, you have to be properly educated. For the same reason that we send naturally skilled teachers - whom surely can write and count - to college to learn how to be an elementary school teacher. nn 4. Be Professional. Looks do matter. A nice brochure, website, business card, and letter head go a long way. For a coach it is doubly important that your clients know you have what it takes to coach them. A way to achieve this is to make sure your approach looks professional, your first meeting must look, feel, and sound like you are a professional.
