Nephrolithiasis or commonly called kidney stones can cause great pain and agony to sufferers if left untreated. The presence of stones in the kidney is a common kidney problem of most people. Stones in the kidney are formed due to many factors like unhealthy life style, diet and hereditary. The pain from this condition varies from mild to severe that sometimes a person needs to be hospitalized. Isn't it great to free yourself from this condition and stop suffering from painful kidney stones?
Stones found in the kidney should be flushed out of a person's system before it can cause other health issues. Although most stones can be flushed out without medical intervention, it is important to consult your doctor when you suspect you have stones in your kidney to be tested for proper diagnosis and treatment at the earliest possible time. Early medical intervention is important to prevent the condition from getting worse. Aside from medical treatment, the following tips can be very helpful when you are suffering from painful kidney stones.
Be more physically active. A person living a sedentary lifestyle is more prone to develop stones in the kidney so to avoid suffering from painful kidney stones; you have to be more physically active. Engage in regular exercise activities to prevent forming more stones. If your work requires you to sit all day, take a break from time to time to walk around or make it a habit to exercise in the morning before going to work. Take the stairs instead of riding the elevator. Stones in the kidney can be prevented by making some changes in your lifestyle.
Drink lots of water. Stones found in the kidney can be flushed out of the body and of course the best way to do it is by drinking lots of water. Fluids like sodas and juices should be avoided as much as possible because they have other elements or components that can contribute to the formation of stones to people who are stone former. Water is the best to help you flushed out kidney stones. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. If you are working, always make it a habit to have a pitcher of water on your working table or when you are always on the go, carry a water container whenever you go. Water is not only good for your kidney's health but it is also good for your overall health.
Kidney friendly diet. Diet plays an important role to people who are prone to developing stones in the kidney. If you want to stop suffering from painful kidney stones, mind what you eat. Although there are different types of stones in the kidney, most stones are formed due to too much consumption of calcium. Modification in your diet can be very helpful to stop the formation of kidneys stones. Sufferers must limit their calcium intake so avoid dairy products as much as possible. We also need calcium in our body so you may need to consult a nutritionist or dietician to make sure that you will not suffer from low calcium. High consumption of sodium or salty foods and animal protein are also not good when you are fighting kidney stones. Simple changes in you diet can help you stop suffering from painful kidney stones.
Suffering from the pain of stones in your kidney can be very disturbing. Fortunately, it is a treatable condition.
