I was a very successful business owner. My company had a great reputation. My husband and I owned a large house in an upscale neighborhood. We had been married for 13 years and everyone looked to us as the role model for a great marriage. My life was very busy. There were the demands of the business, exercise, running errands, getting the dogs to the vet, taking care of the house, and on and on . . . the task lists for work and home were longer than my body was tall. “Doing” consumed my every waking moment. At night, I fell into bed exhausted. I didn’t really sleep. I would toss and turn with my mind in high gear still hashing out what was forgotten during the day. But I had it all and I was successful in every way. You work hard and get ahead, right? Or was it all just “The Rat Race”?
“The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.” Lily Tomli

I had no idea that with the rat race, even if you win, you loose. With the constant pace, I lost the possibility for a fun, enjoyable life, great vacations, spending time with family and friends, living my dreams . . . knowing what my dreams even were. It was like I was stuck on function mode with no “off” key. I had no idea what I really wanted. I had no idea what I was about. I just knew the treadmill called “my life.”
It took a huge blow in my life to realize that I was living a very small existence. It took loosing it all, my husband, the house and my business. The devastation of the loss forced me to face that the pace was just an illusion of success and that the pace suppressed the voice of my natural talent that was screaming, “I’m dieing.” Unde
eath the franticness and the suppressed screams, I longed to create more for my life, to find my natural talent, my natural Genius, that would propel me to live my dreams, live LARGE, and love life.
I’m excited to say that I’m now on my way to fully living my natural Genius. “Living large” can mean different things for different people. For me, it means creating a life of fun and ease that supports my natural Genius. I have 2 businesses now, and yet I am running them without racing around like crazy. Life is becoming a huge adventure. I watch it unfold and I wait with anticipation at what comes next; life flows. How did I find out how to make this happen? I found Otto Siegel of Genius Coaching who knew how to challenge my fears, assess my personal Genius, and show me how to put it into action.
If the face pace of your life is keeping you from your Genius; if you think to yourself that there has to be more to life than this; if you long to reshape your life, find ease in everyday life, and experience your natural GENIUS, then I want you to know that you can. You just need to take a chance to create what you want and make a start.
