Surviving the New Economy

I have had several careers in my 58 years on this planet. I wanted to be a nurse since I was very young. My decision to go to nursing school was based on how attractive I thought the work was and how stable I thought the industry would be. After working in the Western medicine arena for 27 years, I began to see the flaws and decided I wanted to help people using new skills in a different paradigm. So I researched the alte
ative medicine field and became a massage therapist. But, I couldn't be just that because I saw how Western medicine only treated disease and really was not very good at primary prevention. So, I started on a self education journey to learn as much as I could about many other valid health practices and what good health really meant. I came to understand that the success I had was more about my happiness within than the journey other people saw as I plied my work.

Here's my point. You don't have to stay with the career you chose in college. You have many choices in life. That's why you came here- to enjoy creating in this cutting edge reality. There is no right or wrong choice. If you will get happy first, then move into something that attracts your interest, that interest will expand as long as you stay happy with it. When you are no longer enjoying your work, get happy and create something else.

The coming years do not look really great for the job market. That's ok, you know. Every one of you has the ability to create abundance for yourself no matter what the world is doing. If you are fortunate enough to have a good job you enjoy, excellent! If you don't, get happy and keep looking. In the meantime, I want to reinforce what several of my favorite guru's have been teaching. Diversify yourself! By this, I mean invest your time and money in something with passive income. What is passive income? It's money you make when you are no longer doing the work. For example, if you write a song, you'll get royalties each time they play it on the radio. If you write a book, you get royalties when it is sold.

I recommend a home based business based on this concept. My favorite is the transfer buying of things you already are using. Instead of giving your money to Walmart, buy from your own store. There are a number of network marketing companies out there that use this concept. Find one you like. Not only will you make money as you share your idea with others, but the tax savings alone can make this endeavor profitable. Choose your company carefully, and reading books on how to do this is smart. I recommend Robert Kiyosaki's book "The Business of the 21st Century".

I can't be more emphatic about the need to get happy. Only you can do this for yourself. No one or no thing outside of you can do this. This alone is a great exercise for prosperity! Get started today, and go one step at a time.
