Many of us think that cold and sinus infection both the terms are similar. But its not true both the terms are quite different from there meaning. The reason behind why people think that both the terms are similar is because of the symptoms. The symptoms of cold and sinus are quite similar that creates confusion in the mind of the people to distinguish between the two terms.
When the swelling of the mucus membrane coating by the sinus cavities in the skull occurs that is known as sinus. It may look like a simple cold but once it cannot be cured by ordinary cold medicines then it may be the starting stage of sinus. Too many people are not able to distinguish between a common cold and a sinus infection. This is because some cold symptoms are very similar to those of sinusitis.
The common cold is considered a viral upper respiratory tract infection. It is a mild illness that does not last long. Many different kinds of viruses are known to cause the common cold. As a result, we are constantly bombarded by old and new viruses which cause the common cold and there is no way for our body to build resistance to all of them.

6) Sore throat
7) Fever is uncommon with colds in adults but can be seen in children
