Take a risk walking on the effervescent acid bubbling lake.
Written by Tony
Amidst the low-lying Danakil basin of Ethiopia (East Africa), the lush beauty of the multicolored lake has attracted visitors even though its water is highly acidic and toxic.
As one of the lowest, hottest places in the world, the harshness has contributed to making the low-lying Danakil in Ethiopia a "hell on earth." Coming here, visitors can admire the unique and strange geological wonders, spanning a vast area and arid land.
Close to the bright yellow and green lakes, you'll see the smoke swirling from the fanciful ground. This beautiful landscape hides unexpected dangers because the water in the lake is highly acidic and toxic to humans. Danakil is 127 m below sea level, formed by the divergence of three tectonic plates in the Horn of Africa (Northeast Africa and sometimes the Somalia peninsula).
It is also said to be "the cradle of humanity" after hominin fossils, cardboard in the subfamily He, dating back 3.2 million years, were found. The couple held hands around the world Bridget Thackwray (25), and Topher Richwhite (33) from New Zealand came to Danakil and walked barefoot around these bubbling lakes.
Bridget Thackwray said: "The closer I get to the lake, the sulfur smoke burns my lungs as I breathe. The experience of walking here is uncomfortable. Meanwhile, the hot winds are continually blowing with lots of sulfur smoke. The only way to reduce discomfort is to stand behind the rocks. "
"We weren't sure what the liquid in the tank was. So we didn't touch it. However, the lake kept bubbling and bubbling. We could feel the heat of the water under the lake." , She added. Here, Bridget also challenges herself to experience swimming in a beautiful natural lake in the middle of a large salt field.
Bridget said: "To explore this land, we have to accompany security staff as well as instructors. However, their English is not good. Leaving New Zealand more than 506 days ago, Bridget Thackwray and Topher Richwhite are traveling the world with actions to promote environmental protection on their website, and the couple plans to set foot on seven continents in three years over a distance of 350,000 km.
