Are you wanting to make change in your life but for some reason you just can't seem to make change stick?

Well you're not alone. I get a lot emails from women all the time who ask me the same question about change.

They all want to know why they can't make a change stick and the reason is simple - it's because you are resistant to change.

Sounds crazy, right? I know it does. But what's crazier is that you know you have to change and you honestly want to but just can't seem to do it.

So let's talk about a few techniques that will help you overcome your resistance to change.

Create a map for your life

Create a map of your life as you see it in the future. What do you want to do? With whom? Where at? For how long?

If you have no vision for your future then you're not going to make any real progress in your life. Think about it, if you have no target that you're aiming at how will you know when you've hit it?

You'll never know when you can celebrate because you'll never know when you've accomplished something great. No target. Nothing to aim at. It's that simple.

Take daily action

You have to take daily action to keep making progress. You can't skip a day. You must do something everyday even if it's simple and small.

Once you create a map for your life, you'll know the steps you need to take daily to accomplish it. And yes rest should be on your to-do list at least once a week. And don't put so much on your to-do list that you feel overwhelmed before you even get started.

Celebrate you accomplishments

Celebrating your accomplishments becomes a lot easier when you recognize that you accomplished to celebrate.

This goes back to the first technique about having a vision and creating a map. You need to know where you are heading so that you know when you've arrive.

I feel like a lot of people shy away from these techniques because they seem to rigid. I don't want you to feel that way.
It's easy to create a vision and a map. You know what it is that you want to be, do and have. We all do but some of us are afraid to go after it. Or worse we're afraid to start because we don't know where to start.

That's why it's so important to do step one. It makes the other two so much easier.

Take action today. Don' put this off. The longer you put it off, the longer you'll have to wait to live that future you've been visualizing.
