The ever-developing uses of HGH in medicine and quality of life applications

Since the Human Growth hormone (HGH) was discovered in 1955 it has been the subject of many exciting possibilities. What could be the possible benefits of this amazing hormone?

The history of the human growth hormone is very interesting. Researchers tried to isolate it from animals but the refined product was found to be ineffective in humans. It was found to be species-specific. In other words, the growth hormone will only work in its concomitant animal. The human growth hormone is for humans and the Bovine growth hormone is only for cows. If that makes sense.

Initially, it was only possible to obtain HGH from cadavers. The growth hormone obtained in this was used to treat HGH deficient children.

However, it was later found that the disease Creuzfeldt Jacob Disease (CJD) was found to be caused by the HGH obtained from such cadavers. Obviously this could not be allowed to continue.

Synthetic HGH

Synthetic human growth hormone was first synthesized in the laboratory in 1979 by a company called Genetech. They produced HGH by first genetically altering bacteria into producing the hormone. It could be then later processed and cleaned up.

The great point about this is that there is no chance of passing on any disease as was the case when obtaining the stuff from cadavers. It was now possible to produce HGH for sale in limitless quantities.

Uses in Humans

HGH was used to treat adult growth hormone deficiency and was approved by the FDA in 1996. This was great for replacing HGH for medicinal reasons.

Non-Medicinal Uses

So when it was realized that HGH could be manufactured in limitless quantities it became clear that perhaps it could be used to slow the aging process. After all, it is known that our natural human growth hormone production declines as we get older. Could replenishing this loss with synthetic growth hormone reverse or slow the process?

Initially, there was some skepticism that this could be the case. However now after over 20 years of data and anecdotal evidence, there does seem to be proof to back up this claim. This comes from scientific studies and user subjective user experience.

The growth hormone is now becoming the go-to drug for bodybuilders, after years of steroids being the number one drug of choice. The human growth hormone is a product that the human body is very familiar with and so no rejection problems arise.

There is also much less of a chance of serious side effects as was always the case with anabolic steroids. HGH can have side effects but only when massive doses are taken over prolonged periods of time.

Women are also able to tolerate exogenous HGH much better than traditional steroids. Steroids often have masculinizing effects whereas growth hormone does not. For this reason, HGH is often a better performing enhancing drug for women.

Other benefits

In original HGH studies conducted in older men, it was found that HGH had several quantifiable benefits. These included:

• An improved and strengthened immune system
• An improved cholesterol profile. (a better ratio of good to bad cholesterol)
• Loss of fat especially around the waist and also internal fat around the organs
• Thicker smoother skin
• Increased muscle mass
• Increased bone density
• Faster recovery from injury or exercise
• Increased cardiovascular capacity

Treating the symptoms of the disease

Now we have access to unrestricted quantities of HGH it can be used to treat a number of diseases. These include wasting diseases such as HIV and others like juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis, and multiple sclerosis.

What types of Human Growth Hormone are there?

There is only one type of HGH and it must be injected. If you see ads for pills, creams, sprays or patches you can be sure this is NOT HGH.

Human growth hormones usually come as pre-loaded pens or powders which you must mix yourself then inject. The powders are better valued but the pens tend to be more convenient.

It’s an exciting time to be alive with the availability of human growth hormone available as it never was to previous generations. With the obvious benefits of using exogenous HGH now becoming more abundant, it would seem like a no brainer not to use it.
