Hawaii has some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, some accessible by a landing watercraft or helicopter, some located around the soaring waves crashing against lava rocks, and some that literally disappear in the blink of an eye under the high winter surf on the northern shores of the islands. But how do we know which are the best beaches to spend a day at the beach?

Waikiki, Honolulu

Waikiki is the primary beach destination for most of the tourists visiting Honolulu and the island of Oahu. Lanikai Beach, Oahu

Poipu Beach, Kauai

Situated on the southern side of Kauai, Poipu Beach features a series of stunning golden-sand crescents with pristine blue waters offering ideal settings for activities like surfing, swimming, snorkeling and boogie-boarding. The irregular reef formations just offshore make sure that the waters are calm throughout the year. There is also a wading pool which is very popular among the families and kids. The beach is also popular for its Hawaiian Monk Seals that sometimes can be seen sunbathing on the shores.

Kaanapali Beach, Maui

Featuring 3 miles of white sand and pristine waters, Kaanapali was once ranked as the best beach in America. Thanks to its many hotels and resorts, it is a very popular beach gateway. Kaanapali was the first planned resort of Hawaii and later served as a prototype for many resorts around the world. The beach is also very popular among golfers as it is home to two golf resorts; the Kaanapali Kai and the Royal Kaanapali.

Kauna'oa Beach, Hawaii County

Crescent-shaped Kauna'oa Beach is the perfect retreat for visitors seeking clear sands and tranquility. The beach is very private and is home to many coral and fish life. It also offers the visitors a variety of beach facilities.
