The northeastern regions of India hold unlimited tourist potential. The six sister states are rich with wildlife, architectural beauty, natural vistas and wonderful climate. Gangtok is as beautiful as a place can get. To experience the true beauty of the place, plan a tour of Gangtok around summer. Some of the attractions that are usually included in every tour of Gangtok are the famous Kanchenjunga National Park, Gezing village, Tsongo Lake, Khechapari Lake, Phodong Gompa, Yumthang Valley, Rumtek Gompa and several others. Special places of spiritual and religious significance are Ganesh Tok, Hanuman Tok and several monasteries.
If you love nature and wildlife, Fambong La Wildlife Sanctuary which is situated just 20 km from Gangtok is a must visit. It is a forest with a very varied kind of plant life, flowers and rare animals such as red panda, Himalayan black bear, bearcat and many others.
A combined tour of Gangtok and Darjeeling is a great idea if you are touring the northeast. They are located close enough to be accommodated in single north east packages. A tour of the northeast will definitely turn out to be one of the best holidays in your life. You will want to visit the place over and over again in order to experience the serenity, spirituality and beauty of the land.
