Self esteem is important, no I mean really important, it’s like an electrician turning up to wire your plug without the correct tools for the job, yep self esteem is the biggie without it your pretty much flying blind in the big bad world, it’s pretty simple really, a sense of purpose gives you a will to live, everyone I’ve ever met who had high self esteem had a sense of their own purpose in life. Now this might sound quite daunting but small achievements build up to bigger achievements the side effect being your self esteem grows at the same time.

Finding your purpose contains the potential for far too wide an area of experience for me to do it justice in a short article, things to look out for on your own personal journey could be thinking about what moves you in a big way, I mean it might not be obviously set out in front of you but I’m pretty sure most people are at least to a certain extent aspiration driven so that’s a good place to start, you’ve got dreams exactly how can that dream be achieved can form the basis of finding your purpose.

The reason self esteem is so important to your efforts in the dating game, firstly comes from the fact that you have to be in a balanced place in your life, OK so you don’t necessarily need to be in a balanced place to get into a relationship but you can guarantee if your not then what you have is merely a house built on sand. Another import area your self esteem impacts upon your relationship prospects is the person you project outwardly, it stands to reason that a person who is together and knows where there going in life projects a more positive vibe than someone to who life is something that just happens.

It’s this positivity that naturally exudes from a person with high self esteem that magnetises others towards them which in turn makes meeting and forming meaningful connections with other people less of a stumbling block and more of an adventure but an adventure on their own terms. Viewed like this you can see why as far as dating goes self esteem is most definitely a weapon, how it’s deployed can mean the difference between relationships that work for or against you in massive ways, or to put it as the late great George Carlin said ‘most people with low self-esteem have earned it’.

If you find yourself repeating behaviours that leave you questioning your self worth and feeling as if your viewpoint is brushed off or completely ignored it can be a difficult task to turn the tables and form new more productive life habits. It’s worth remembering that you should be gentle on yourself and change happens by the continuous repetition of behaviours until they become habits, the benefits of which might not be immediately obvious, learning to set and achieve small goals is in fact a major cornerstone of change.
