The Online Food Ordering Development Is Here

The online food ordering revolution is here and it's time to put down the phone. It's time to use the resources at hand to make your life, and those around you, easier. I'm considering the ability to order foods online through a website or Facebook page, and iOS or Android app.
Of course, we still need the phone. We struggle to conduct our lives and business strictly through the internet. But when it comes to ordering lunch or dinner, something most of us do every day, the phone really isn't necessary anymore. You can now go straight to a restaurant's website or Facebook page, view the menu, and order/pay from there. Better yet, many restaurant's offer, or are developing, custom apps that give their patrons easy access to ordering.
Lets look at it from the restaurant's point of view. Any good restaurant is busy, especially throughout lunch and dinner hours. Now consider what happens when someone calls this restaurant to place a phone order. Someone has to stop what they're doing, answer the phone, and write down a lengthy order.
Restaurant: Hello, can I help you?
You: Ummmm, yeahhh. Hi, what's on the grill sandwich?
Restaurant: grill.
You: Of course. What about the chocolate sandwich?
Restaurant: Chocolate.
You: Interesting. What is your favorite sandwich that you guys make?
Restaurant: Really dude?
Not only is the person taking the order about to reach through the phone and strangle you, but if you're lucky, they are going to stack it up next to a pile of additional orders, and you just have to hope that they get it right and have it ready within the next day or two.
Now lets look at it from the other side. You call in and get a cranky, overworked and underpaid person who's boyfriend just broke up with them. You give them your order over a barrage of history noise and just hope the person can actually hear you. You arrive 30 minutes later to pick it up and find a hot, delicious meatball sub waiting for you. You're vegetarian and ordered the veggie burger with a salad. Bummer.
Life doesn't have to be this hard. It's easy for you to order food online by simply visiting the restaurant's website or Facebook page. It's even easier to download their free app and order through there. Think about all the time you'll save and all the harassment you'll save the restaurant industry workers. The revolution is underway and it's moving ahead full steam. Change your life and make online food ordering your priority over the traditional way of the telephone.
