The Price of Humans by J.L Edwards raises the essential question - "What is the value of human lives?"
A person's experiences can change both their attitudes to people and life. The humanism that J.L Edwards has shown in this book is remarkable and heart touching. He skillfully used his characters to explore the very important question about the actual worth of humans. His book reflects how culture and environment influence the human nature and the way money controls an individual’s behavior. He addresses social problems specific to modern society. The story shows the behavior of humans for money or power and its aftermath, making the readers face the bitter truth of life. The book highlights the criminal activities and injustice which are important issues in societies throughout the world, and causes severe effect on the social life of the individuals who belong to different stratas of the society.
The Price of Humans serve s as a stark reminder of the crime and injustice that inevitably results when those in authority choose to use their power for selfish gain. Fear is a powerful weapon, but kindness and compassion are what will win people’s hearts and bring about true success in the end. The book also shows the deep rewards of friendship and uniting for a common cause and how focusing one’s attention outward in seeking to help others can in fact help resolve inner and personal conflicts.

The story evolves around the Jamaican boy named Chaba, who had a tough life and a young executive named George who had everything. Both their lives are transformed by rigorous lessons in Justice, Truth and Equality. It describes how people misuse their power in order to gain wealth. This book really tells you that there is a big difference between the economical classes of the people. This is a story about Jamaican life, yet the events are happening in many parts of the world. The people who ha te political violence, corruption will surely love this book. The author amazingly evokes a lot of emotions that you can barely imagine that you have - until you read the story.

About the Author

J. L. Edwards is a number 1 best-selling author, educator, youth advocate and stocks/options investment guru. He started his career brewing/bottling internationally known brands of beers and beverages and later moved to Wall Street where he delved into the stock market. His life changed course, influencing his move from Wall Street to teaching high school math in an urban school district.
He now works as a school administrator and spends a great deal of time training educators and exploring his passion for writing.
