The Right Coach For You

The right coach for you is one who unveils the great potential and inner wisdom that you have had within all along. This coach will enhance your ability to self-trust and allow you to crystallize your vision so that you feel motivated and inspired to co-create your very best life. This “best life” will open those exquisite opportunities that you'll need in order to fulfill the expression of your innate gifts. It will take on its own special charm, so different from anyone else, from mine, your neighbors and friends. This underlying ideology is rooted in Self Empowerment principles so that you may live your chosen purpose and discover what makes you smile the most. When you find the coach that’s right for you, he/she will help you figure out where you are, where you want to be, and how you will get there. When you make this self commitment to explore, enjoy and expedite the process of positive movement and change, everything finds a way of falling into place.

Embrace your cherished friends, those endearing people who hold very sacred places in all our lives. In fact, personally I feel lucky and cannot say enough for having so many wonderful friends as I do. They are true blessings in my life; however, this caveat to you is that you realize the distinction and not mistake your friends to fill the role of a Life Coach for guiding you during times of personal or professional uncertainty. Your friends who know and care about you, naturally would want what’s best for you; therefore, an act of humility on their part is necessary. It would serve you best that they advise you to seek a coach to help you navigate through your quest for greater fulfillment, deeper insight and resolving your challenges so that you may find the personal path to your truth and happiness. There is a striking, elemental difference between your dearest friend and the right coach for you. In essence, coaching has been shown to use evidence based methodology with structure and flexibility where clarity and focus are key criteria; whereas the intrinsic tendency in friendship lends itself toward casual conversation that may wind up in all sorts of directions that were unintended.

Supportive encouragement from a friend is undoubtedly valuable, uplifting and reassuring; however, it does not replace the expertise of a well trained, experienced coach who has a repertoire of exploration exercises and strategic planning with an array of resources as needed. Although it is true that many friends would go that extra mile for you, it is still imperative that you develop your own skill set and learn how to brainstorm and improvise through your impasses and take responsibility for yourself. Your coach will integrate dynamic questioning to inquire and help you process and form your immediate, short and long term goals. You’ll know you need that one coach when you’re faced with an important decision that your friends cannot help you with. Friends present their unwritten biases, judgments and values that may differ from your own. This is not necessarily any fault of theirs, it is just the nature of how it is. The coach, on the other hand, adopts an accepting attitude with consistent, unconditional positive regard. The support of a caring friend can certainly enhance your journey; the difference is that your coach walks you through the unknown to help you create the plan that’s right for you.

A coach co-creates a partnership with the expressed agreement to benefit you, the client. The coach is not only a catalyst and motivator, she/he is at times gently confronting and intentionally challenging on behalf of the client’s own good. A descriptive metaphor that illustrates the heart of the matter is when a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly if given the right conditions. Believe in your own potential. Shine the light inside you so that your soul’s clarity will wash away any fear. The coach honors the client not only for what the client does and for whom the client is, but above all for whom you, the client may ultimately become.
