I still believe school days were the best days of life. Along with studies there was so much of fun to enjoy. The best time that my friends and I spent was in school. Our school also took many initiatives to keep us involved with something or the other. One of the many steps was to set a trend of ideal classrooms in our school.

The trend of ideal classrooms was started with a motto to enhance the creative skills of the students. It came once a year. Students would have to show their creative skills to decorate their classrooms. The Classroom which looked the most beautiful would win the prize. This made Students give their cent percent effort to make their classroom look neat and clean and attractive. They made wall posters of different kinds, filled up bulletin boards with graffiti inside the classroom, made use of curtains for the classroom windows, and decorated the black board. They even decorated the doors to create an inviting and warm environment by designing welcome messages on the doors for anybody who entered the classroom. It has been found that in many classrooms students decorated the desks by laminating their name tags so that it would last for the entire school year. To show a creative theme they would also create a reading corner. Many times students would hang a calendar which is happened to be a dry erase calendar on the wall to announce birthdays, upcoming events and other activities. Once, the students of our class came up with the idea of hanging decorations from the ceiling to highlight our classroom theme. In other classrooms it was found that students decorated their teacher’s desk with accessories such as fabric, a plant, photo, a small box of tissues and a wooden tray to collect all the homework.

This special class was conducted once a year to judge how creative the students are and also to provide them with a platform to exhibit their talent. This raised the sense of competition among the students which resulted in bringing out new ideas.
School was finally not all about gathering bookish knowledge. The present day schools have changed a lot from the schools of earlier days. Earlier, the schools used to emphasize more on the textbooks. But with the passage of time, the teaching pattern of today’s schools have changed. Now teachers value the creativity skills of the students just as much as their academic results. Students also get a chance to know what they are good in.
