The Underestimating Nature of Children

Once upon a time there was a lion in a big forest. Every animal in the forest used to fear him because he was the most powerful animal of the forest, nobody used to come close to him. In that same forest there was a small mouse that was very mischievous and never feared anyone. One day that mouse came and began running up and down upon the lion’s back. The lion was sleeping at that time but when he was disturbed by the mouse he woke up. He was very surprised that no one dared to come close to him in the entire area but this little mouse had so much of guts that it came to trouble him. The lion out of anger opened his big jaws to swallow the mouse. The mouse cried out of fear and said,
“please pardon me king, just forgive me this time and I will never repeat this mistake through out of my life”. The mouse again pleaded him by saying that I will never forget your kindness and who knows that one day I may be able to help you out in some problem. The lion laughed after hearing this and thought in his mind that what help this tiny creature can give me. The lion out of pity lifted up his paw and left the mouse free. After few months of this incidence, a group of hunters captured the lion and tied him to a tree while they went in search of a wagon to carry him in. Sometime later, the mouse happened to pass by, and seeing the sad plight, in which the Lion was. It ran up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bound the King of the Beasts. "Was I not right?" said the little Mouse, happy to help the Lion.

After reading this story you must have got a vivid idea that any little friend or little thing may prove great in any aspect of our life. So we should never underestimate anyone because they can be of great help at any point of our life. You must be wondering why people have such type of behavior of criticizing and underestimating others. It is also clear that these types of people always have the habit of putting down others and forcing the ideas they have. This kind of behavior usually starts from childhood which continues their whole life. Children when give the negative feedback to their colleague, it reduce their self esteem and leads to anxiety. Here in the story, the lion made fun of the mouse because it thought it to be a very useless creature but when he was trapped by the hunters, that tiny mouse helped him to get out from that tragedy. Therefore we should never teach our child to underestimate others. It is important for children to understand that all are equal before God and that no one person is any better or less than the other. It’s only a matter of time.
