The Weight loss potion
Written by Stefan Edlund
You have probably heard before that you should drink lots of water each day. Maybe you didn’t believe it but drinking water will help you lose weight. If you are doing your exercises and eating right, and still not seeing the results that you want. It could be that your body is dehydrated.
Inside your body you got many different forms of metabolism going on, but one of the most important ones when you want to lose weight is the metabolism of fat. And this is something that the liver does; it takes the fat and converts it into energy.
But if you don’t drink enough water your kidneys can not function properly, which means that the liver has to do the kidneys job also. And when this is the case the liver will not metabolize fat as quickly as it should.
So drinking water will boost your metabolic rate and make your muscles and organs function more efficiently. In fact a well hydrated body can help your metabolism burn calories up to 3% faster. And when you are hydrated you will also feel a lot more energetic.
Eight Glasses a Day Minimum
Eight glasses a day is the minimum water consumption that you should have. And of course if you train very hard or live in an area very it is very hot you should of course drink even more water.
Maybe you think that eight glasses of water per day is much, but it’s really not. Just try to have water with you all the time, if you work in an office try to have a water bottle on the table all the time. And take the water bottle with you in your car and at home, so you can always sip on some water.
If you’re starting to get thirsty you have not had enough water. You should drink before you start feeling thirsty, because when you feel thirsty your body is already starting to get dehydrated. So you should never feel thirsty in a day.
Feeling hungry? Drink water!
This may sound strange but the thing is that if you feel hungry, it could just be because you have not had enough water that day. Because the body reacts the same way when you haven’t eaten enough and when you haven’ had enough water.
So when you start to feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water (instead of grabbing a snack or sandwich) and see if that helps. A lot of the times this is the case. And if you think you’re hungry and start eating, when it really was that you were just low on water, you’re going to gain weight.
