Three Google Search Engine Optimization Tips
Written by Beth Swanson
In Fort Lauderdale, website owners everywhere are trying to figure out how to get the best results with Google search engine optimization. It’s no secret that internet marketing tactics are constantly changing, but there are three key areas that remain the same. Let’s take a look at the three areas that you should always address when you’re trying to improve your rankings.
Structure Your Website for the Spiders
Spiders crawl in a pre-determined way, and it’s possible to optimize your site for them. You do this by structuring your website so that the spiders will crawl the most important content first, which allows your most important (and optimized) content to have priority. The process can be complicated, but a Fort Lauderdale internet marketing expert can help you optimize your site for the spiders.
Create Content for the Spiders
By now everyone who does internet marketing understands that well organized relevant content is important when trying to attract Fort Lauderdale visitors. But there’s more to do when striving for Google search engine optimization. For instance, you’ll need to think about keyword density, which is the number of times a keyword is used in an article. The optimal number is ever changing, but 3-5 percent is generally a safe bet.
In addition, formatting out of the norm will change the way the spiders rank your site. Things like bolding, italics, content in header tags and anchor text will all increase the weight of your text.
Don’t forget to keep your content relevant to your site, and include a lot of it. Google will give your site a higher ranking if you have a lot of articles about one topic, rather than a bunch of articles about different topics.
Create Link Bait and Build Reciprocal Links
The more people you can get to link to your site, the better your Google search engine optimization results will be. There are many ways to make people link to your site, and some of the more common ones are press releases, blog posts, contests and guest posts. Some people create and promote useful tools that will cause people to link to their site. Of course, internet marketing requires more than just creating the bait and hoping people will link to it. Instead, you’ll have to promote the link baits you create, and then keep creating new ones because the more quality links you have, the better you’ll rank.
In addition to link bait, a good internet marketing plan includes getting relevant reciprocal links to your site. The keyword here is relevant. If you run a dog breeding site, a link to a cupcake shop won’t do you any good, but one to a veterinarian or a dog house site will.
Internet marketing is a complex and fascinating subject, and many people put their site’s marketing in the hands of a professional. In Fort Lauderdale, Google search engine optimization has become an art, and if you want to increase your site’s ranking, you should think about contacting an expert.
