Implementing these practices might be challenging at first, but the more you work at it, the easier it will become and the more you can get done each day. Here are the best practices to implement to improve your time management in the workplace:

1. Track the Time Spent on Every Task

Understanding how you spend your time each day is the best way to make the most of your time. Keep track of the amount of time spent on each task along with the amount of time spent not doing things that further your productivity at work. Do this with Tracktime24.com. After tracking your time for one week, you will have a good idea of what areas to work on as well as how you can improve your overall time management.

2.Create Each Day’s To-Do List

If you create a structured plan for each day, you will better understand what needs to be accomplished as well as the actionable steps to be taken to get your tasks done. Start off your day by creating a to-do list outlining the tasks that you have to complete along with the actions you need to take to complete them.

3.Identify Your Goals and Stick to Them

You will have a clear understanding of the areas you need to focus your time on each day by identifying both small and large work goals. For instance, if completing a project by the end of the week is your goal, write the overall goal along with the smaller goals that will ensure that the project is completed on time.

4. First Complete the Most Important Tasks

When making the to-do list, consider ranking tasks from the most to least important. Work through the most critical tasks, such as those with the closest impending deadlines. The process will help you focus your time more effectively so that you have enough time left to complete the most important tasks on time and at a high quality.

5.Delegate Whenever Possible

Delegating tasks that don’t require you to complete them and that would otherwise end up taking valuable time may help in significantly improving your time management. For instance, if you want a spreadsheet to complete a project, and you know that a member of your team is more capable and efficient when it comes to creating spreadsheets, you can give this task to them to free you up to focus on more important tasks.

6.Take Short breaks

If you take short breaks throughout the workday, you will stay motivated and your brain will have the rest it requires to keep being productive.

Try setting a timer for 30 minutes and work until the timer goes off. You can then give yourself a break of 5 minutes to stretch your legs and get a drink of water. If you do this consistently during the day, it will be more effective than working hard for an extended period only to end up too tired or unmotivated to complete your day productively.
