If it feels to you like you’re constantly in a time crunch or with a giant to-do list, time management will help you feel more in control of your life. The idea is to use your time efficiently, prioritize, and stay organized.

Here are some time management tips to use:

1. Be Efficient: People who utilize time most efficiently are the ones who know how to manage their daily activities. They are the ones who focus on what they want to accomplish and spend less energy “fighting fires” or wasting time.

* If you have just 15 minutes, there are a number of things that can get done. Rather than getting caught up in “all or nothing” thinking (i.e., you either clean the entire closet or nothing at all), tackle big jobs in shorter time slots.
* Remember too that there is nothing wrong with doing nothing for 15 minutes. In fact, one of the best things you can do is give yourself permission to close your eyes for a few minutes—without feeling guilty.

2. Prioritize: Prioritizing activities, means realizing that there is only so much you can do in a day—so prioritize what matters most.

* If you are ready to tackle those projects you never get to, create a strong intention. Write down a master list for the month or year with everything you want to accomplish and the dates.

3. Organize: Time management experts recommend keeping a day planner and this tool is a lifesaver. It not only helps you stay organized, but it also gives you a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

* A day planner allows you to have a list of to-do items that you check off, one by one. It’s also a great way to track your time.
