Check out these amazing quotes on fear. See what famous people and even the Bible has to say about fear.
1. "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."
~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
Fear is such a debilitating emotion, if left unchecked. It robs us of our ambition and hope. It renders our mind ineffective and saps us of our strength. Franklin D. Roosevelt is right, there is only one thing to fear and that is fear.
2. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
~ Bible – 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJB)
While it is human to experience fear in life, that is not God’s plan for us. God has given us that all important gift of choice. We can allow our human nature to dominate or we can focus on our divine qualities bestowed upon us by our creator – that of power, love, and a sound mind.
How will you choose to deal with the events of your life?
Be still, pray and meditate on God’s goodness and be open for your blessing to appear where fear once stood. Guard your greatest asset, your mind, and keep it continually focused on good positive and uplifting thoughts.
3. "We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot."
~ Eleanor Roosevelt
Every seemingly negative event or situation in our life that triggers fear can actually be the stepping stone to a more developed inner strength, courage, and confidence. If you already experienced the pain of fear… demand your blessing in disguise to manifest by having the courage to face your fear and discover your strength.
4. "Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy."
~ Dale Carnegie
Dale always has such practical and sound advice.
If you have been shut down by fear and doubt, think of at least one step you can take right now to move yourself in the right direction. Keep this process up on a daily basis until you are no longer in a distressing place.
5. "Curiosity will conquer fear even more than bravery will."
~ James Stephens
What an insightful and thought provoking statement!
Tap into the curiosity you had as a child. Start to wonder about your circumstance.
For example, let’s take the situation of being unemployed in a bad economy.
Become curious about what industries thrive in good times and bad – for example food and health industries. Become curious about what industries thrive in economic down-turns such as collects and credit. The more curious you become about your problem situation the more likely it will lead you the solution.
6. "Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world."
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
What a sad, but true statement. It is not the lack of education or finances that defeats a person. It is fear. There are plenty of rich and educated people have ended up in ruin while plenty of successful people have come from very humble and meager beginnings.
7. "Do the thing you fear to do and keep on doing it... that is the quickest and surest way ever yet discovered to conquer fear."
~ Dale Carnegie
Do you know the difference between these two groups of people?
Both experienced hardships and fear, but those who succeed are the ones that refuse to allow fear to immobilize them, but rather use fear as a catalyst to trying new things and stirring up new zeal to conquer their current situation.
8. "You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith."
~ Mary Manin Morrissey
Do you have a dream that you’ve secretly held?
Has fear kept you from consistently taking steps to allow this dream to be realized?
Start saturating your mind with thoughts of optimism. Start reading autobiographies of successful people who overcame adversity. This is how you nourish your faith in God, Providence, and your abilities to be do and have anything you desire.
9. "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us."
~ Marianne Williamson
On the surface this statement sounds ridiculous.
How could we fear being "powerful beyond measure?"
Simple… most people are very resistant to change and accepting total responsibility for their lives.
If we are the average working class person, moving into the elite successful means that we must change the way we are living our lives.
We must take responsibility for our lives. Stop blaming the economy or our parents. Own our power and believe in ourselves.
Our whole world will change. Some of our friends and family will no longer want to associate with us. The way we spend our free time would change if we knew our power.
We would no longer live vicariously through the characters on reality TV.
Are you ready to become the director of your own life?
10. "Fears are educated into us, and can, if we wish, be educated out."
~ Karl Augustus Menninger
Yes, if you struggle with fears – there is hope for you. With diligent effort you can educate yourself to develop hope, learn how to effectively seek out solutions and develop the courage to overcome your fears and live the life of your dreams.
