At some point in life, all relationship encounter problems. It's a normal part of the cycle. People usually have different opinions and if you bring them together, conflicts will surely happen. However, that doesn't mean that your relationship will soon break up. Following are some ways to make a relationship work that you may not know but are actually effective.

1 - Drop the Subject

This may seem strange at first but if you are arguing about something, it might be best to just drop the subject. No one wants to fight in a relationship. If both of you don't want to fight, then why do it? Move on and stop dwelling on whatever it is you are fighting about. If you're not happy, then don't waste energy on it. Don't take this advice for granted. Although it's too easy to be true, this methods is actually one of the top ways to make a relationship work.

2 - Try on Each Other's Shoes

Some advices talk about how you should view the problem from your partner's side. That's a good method although you can definitely do better. For example, the two of you could actually switch opinions and have your points argued by the other. It would give both of you the chance to see each other's view point and finally let you figure out that fighting with the person you love over something stupid is in itself stupid. This kind of epiphany is one of the top ways to make a relationship work.

3 - Adopt an Attitude of Gratitude

One exercise you can adapt is creating a list of all the things you are happy about. During the day, you should be able to tell your partner all the things you are happy about. They don't have to be big things. It could be small things like having a car to drive to work or eating three times a day. This exercise will help you think on a more positive note. Overtime, you'll find yourself thinking more about the good things rather than the bad ones. Soon enough, you will be able to look at your partner and appreciate their presence in your life.

These are just few of the ways to make a relationship work that you can use. Remember, you and your partner used to be crazy about each other until stress and negative emotion got in between you. Your choice is to overcome adversity and cultivate the kind of relationship you want or to back out and live your life solo. What sounds better to you?
