Islamic Center of America: Dearborn, Michigan

A contemporary gem, the architecture of the Islamic Center of America was inspired from several religious sites in India, Turkey and other nations. A lavishly designed structure, the prayer room is adorned with calligraphy of verses from the Holy Quran and Islamic Motifs. The interiors of the center are bejeweled with plush granites and crystal chandeliers. The fiberglass dome and stone-carved construction are worth gazing at.

Memorial Presbyterian Church: St. Augustine, Florida

As stunning as it looks, the story behind Memorial Presbyterian Church is even more intriguing. The building was erected in 1889 as a commemoration to the daughter of the American Industrialist, Henry Morrison Flagler. The mogul always had a soft corner for St. Augustine; and after his trip to the city with his first wife Mary, he invested considerably in this Floridian beauty. After he lost his daughter, Flagler decided the Presbyterian Church will be dedicated to his baby girl. The tombs of Flagler, his wife, daughter and granddaughter are all in the premises of the church. This elaborately designed structure features a striking dome, a tranquil sanctuary, stained-glass windows and wood-carved walls.
