Top tech travel gadgets for seniors
Written by Robi Tylor
There are a lot of senior citizens that like to go around the world and have new experiences. With technology becoming more and more advanced, there are a lot of products out there that can help them enhance those experiences. Here is a small list of products.
A laptop
Laptops are very similar to normal PCs, only that they have a great advantage in terms of their portability. There are many models out there, so it doesn’t matter what kind of a laptop you get as long it has a good processor. If you can afford it, try and get one with an Intel I3 or Intel i5 processor. They are worth the investment.
With a laptop with you can browse the internet, watch movies, listen to music, place bets on your favorite sites, write a love story or do whatever it pleases you.
The Apple iPad
The iPad is an alternative to laptops. It has a touch screen and it is a lot easier to carry around than a laptop. You don’t need a mouse, but it also has a smaller screen. You can use it for pretty much anything like you would do with a laptop; however writing on it takes a lot more time.
An e-Book Reader
We live in the world of digital books. So why not go buy yourself an e-Book reader in which you can carry around a lot of books. Instead of getting only 3-4 books with you, an e-Book reader lets you have even 1000 books without the trouble of carrying them around. All praise technology!
A GPS
If you are traveling with your car, a GPS is a must have tool. Why waste your time with maps, when you can simply insert your destination into the program and just follow its directions. Usually, GPS products are preloaded with maps and directions to restaurants, hotels, shopping malls or any other point of interest you’d like to visit. If you are visiting a foreign country and the GPS doesn’t have the maps for it, then don’t forget to go to tech support so that they can show you how to update it.
If you are looking for a great place to live, you can always get a 55 Plus Senior Link at Magnolia Courts in La Verne. Or if you want something more luxurious, you can check out the 55 Plus Senior Apartment, La Verne.
An USB Travel Charging Kit
If you are going to get all these electronics, you are also going to need an USB travel charging kit. You never know when your GPS, smart phone, camera or e-Reader will run out of battery, so you need to be prepared.
