Saarc the term stands for a group named South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. To maintain harmony among the South Asian countries this group was started in the year 1985 on December 8. The main focus of it was the economic, social, cultural development of the Saarc countries. Initially there were 7 members in this group i.e India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives and Nepal. It was later that Afghanistan joined the group in 2007. With the changing times, Saarc nations also shifted their focus to the development of tourism in these countries. India: Travelers from all around the world come to India, to experience its irresistible charm and traditional heritage. Beaches, hill stations, colorful cities, yummy food, ancient monuments, truly make this country a travelers paradise. And how can your trip be complete without a visit to Taj Mahal, the ete al monument of love. Even a jungle safari would be a nice idea to explore the rich wildlife of the country. And before departing do take a round of the local markets of India, to buy the gifts and souvenirs for your family and friends. Sri Lanka: An important part of the Hindu mythology, Sri Lanka leave the travelers amazed with its serene charm. The pearly white sand and tranquility of the beaches of the country will surely force you to come to Lanka again and again. And do not miss a lovely performance by the Maria band. Maldives: A heavenly destination for the young honeymooning couples. One can also that nature has blessed this place with some of its best creation. Just imagine the cool wind on your face with the cascading sound of the sea. Its simply out of this world. There can be nothing like this anywhere. Bhutan: This small country is trying to leave its mark on the travel map of the world. Although yet to be discovered Bhutan has its own charm that attract the travelers here from all around the world. Even this country is also know for its Buddhist monasteries and artistically carved wooden houses. Nepal: Nepal is a destination that every adventure enthusiast wishes to visit once. The main reason is the location of the highest mountain peak of Mt Everest here. Adventure lovers not only from Saarc countries but from all around the world come, to feel the thrill and excitement of conquering the Everest. These were the main travel spotlights of the Saarc, but beside them one can also check out travel options to Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Although these countries score low on the travel choices, yet one can consider planning a trip here. So take out some time for yourself and plan a trip to relax your mind and body.
