Saarc the term stands for a group named South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. To maintain harmony among the South Asian countries this group was started in the year 1985 on December 8. The main focus of it was the economic, social, cultural development of the Saarc countries. Initially there were 7 members in this group i.e India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives and Nepal. It was later that Afghanistan joined the group in 2007. With the changing times, Saarc nations also shifted their focus to the development of tourism in these countries.
