This medicine has its approval from the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA). rnMontelukast is the name of the active chemical ingredient present in the drug, singulair. Due to this ingredient, the effect of both the version of this anti-asthmatic is drug remains the same. Generic name of the drug is also known as montelukast. Apart from the difference in the price, shape, size, color and flavors, there is no other difference between both the drug forms. Interestingly, generic singulair is sold at dirt cheap prices as compared to its brand name drug. The effect however, remains the same on the individual's body.
