Treated Wood Decks Are Imperative For Your Decking Requirements
Written by John Peter
We shed in our hard earnings for purchasing the same. And hence it is very important that we place a special emphasis upon quality of the things we end up purchasing. Never compromise over quality for cheap price and when it comes to furniture’s and any other wooden things we purchase see to that the product is made from treated timber.
We invest a lot of our hard earned money on our homes. And most people love to chill at their outdoor garden after a very tiring and long day at work. We invest a lot on interior decorations as well in order to realize our dreams. Developing a dream home is not just about interior decorations, it also includes decorating the exteriors of the home as well. And on this note, it is quite imperative for you to focus quality time upon developing your garden area. Irrespective of whether you are developing an outdoor kitchen or another patio area, outdoor decking is very important for every home. Outdoor decks and other structures built outside the home are exposed to several environmental conditions and they are quite vulnerable as well. These structures and decks are exposed to rain, insects, pests, snow and ultraviolet radiation. And these factors can severely damage the life of the wood. In other words, the longevity of your outdoor wooden structures is drastically reduced due to the above mentioned influenced factors. Here is where treated lumber comes into the picture. In these lumbers, the wood is treated with special preservatives that protect the wood from exposure to these influential factors. The preservatives extend the life of any exterior wood allowing it to withstand the harshest of environmental conditions for several years and yet stand tall.
Over 40% of treated wood is used for construction of decks all over the world. And on this note it is much better for you to make use of treated wood decks for your deck requirements than composite decking. Composite decking is not scratch proof. Though they are quite versatile and durable and might seem suitable for your decking requirements, they are not scratch proof and once they incorporate scratches in their structural design, the changes remain forever. The scratches cannot be removed by any means and you’ll have to either replace it entirely or deal with board until it fades completely to match the color of the scratch. And if you keep replacing every time, you’ll end up spending more in the name of maintenance. Whereas, treated wood decks are not just water resistant that improves its longevity, it is also scratch proof. It gives the best appearance to the deck. Even if it does get scratched, you can get rid of the scratch by sanding the board and sealing the same. You can make use of translucent sealer to leave the natural wood grain exposed which improves its quality.
