It is all too easy for a date to go badly. However, there are some very common sense measures that people can take, to try to improve the odds of a date going well.

Common sense, in general, is one key to successful dating. It can be exciting and overwhelming to go on a date, but those who can keep their wits and common sense with them will fare better by the end of the night.

Common sense is simple to follow. It includes things like letting someone know where you are going and remembering to bring your mobile phone. These two simple steps alone can make you feel more comfortable before the date even starts.

Make sure you have the details of the date straight. It may seem obvious, but if you neglect establishing and remembering where and when the date is it will start the evening off on the wrong foot. Also remember that fashionably late is probably not going to win you many points when it comes to dating, so be on time!

It is fine to have some drinks during a date but it is important not to take it too far. When you are just getting to know someone, you do not want yourself, or him or her, to be slurring speech. Always keep an eye on your drink, if you decide to drink. You do not want to drink something if you are not sure what it is or if someone else is refilling your glass for you.
