Two Types of Essential Things You Should Have in Your Vehicle

Driving can be fun but it can also be a disaster if you are not prepared and properly equipped for the journey. Most of the people travel around with an empty trunk which is not an idea because if you get into any car trouble you will be left stranded and wait for help. It is important that you keep all the essential things in your car so that you can make your journey happy and relaxing.
The best way of making sure that you have everything you need for the journey is to make a checklist. If you are going on an adventure like hiking or kayaking then you should know how to tie down a kayak etc. Here are some of the important things that should be in your car.
Repair and Maintenance Equipment:
Breaking down in the middle road is the worst thing that can happen as it will completely ruin the trip as you will spend hours stranded so make sure that you can take care of the basic problems yourself. One of the essential things that should be in your trunk is a spare tire along with tire iron and tire jack so that you can change a busted tire.
You should also keep a sealer and tire inflator so that you can handle a leak and fix it long enough to get to the auto shop. Keep the jump cables in there too so that you can jump start the batteries. You should also keep a car manual in your glove compartment so that you can familiarize yourself with all the parts of the car. Duct tape is also an important tool to keep at hand.
Safety and Survival Equipment:
You should make sure that you have an emergency bag or a kit in your car trunk especially if you are going on a long trip. The safety kit should comprise of important things such as a flashlight, fire starters or matches, water bottles, energy bars and instant foods. These things can help you a lot in an emergency situation.
Some of the other survival equipment that should be in the car includes emergency money, paper towels, toilet paper, tissue, blanket, reusable shopping bags and a change of clothes.
Other small tools such as window breaker and seat belt cutter under the seat so you can cut yourself loose in case of an accident. They should be kept in a place where they are easily accessible. Flares and reflective triangles can also come handy if get lost and to prevent you from hitting the side of the road in dark. Never go on a road trip without a map. You should also download some useful apps that can help you with the route you are travelling.
These are some of the important things that should be in your car if you want to have a comfortable and trouble free journey. The list can vary slightly depending on the trip that you are taking but the basic items stay the same for every journey.
