Types of accommodations in London
Written by Rechard Seymour
For an average traveller, there are at least four or five different kinds of accommodations in London for him to have a comfortable stay.
Even though there are several myths about not being able to find the right accommodation in London, the truth is that there is no truth in those myths. There are travellers who do not want to come to London because they worry about the kind of place they will get to stay there and whether they will be able to pay for the same. This is reinforced by the fact that London is in reality an expensive city. However, even if the city is expensive and generally not considered as a place where you can find accommodations easily, there are at least four to five different kinds of places that a traveller can stay in when he comes to London. These choices of course change according to the kind of money any traveller can or is ready to spend on accommodation but the bottom line remains that you have a wide range of choices when it comes to finding a place to stay in London.
The broad categories of accommodations in London are the luxury hotels, the mid range hotels, the mid range but no frills hotels, the budget hotels, hostels, family rooms, apartments hotels and inns and lodges and guest houses. These are just the broad categories and of course there are sub categories and varieties that are present under these categories for you to choose from. Above all of this, you can also stay as paying guests in London for short durations like a month or so. Staying in a paying guest accommodation for such a period of time is more reasonable than staying in a hotel for the same period as any hotel would be more expensive than a paying guest accommodation. Of course, wherever you stay you will have to arrange for your own food and any other special requirements as you may have.
Luxury hotels and 5 star hotels are hotels meant for those who do not just need a place to stay in London but want something more than that. These hotels provide special services like spa and meditation and exotic food and wine for the guests. This is London living at its best. Mid range hotels are for the people who want a nice and comfortable place to stay but cannot pay as much as the luxury hotels. The mid range no frills hotels are very near to the budget hotels in terms of facilities and services. Budget hotels of course are for the budget travellers who need a clean and comfortable hotel for their stay without any fancy amenities or services. Other places like inns and lodges and guest houses also specialise in providing a comfortable stay at reasonable prices for the guests who come to stay there.
Family rooms and apartment hotels are specialised places for the guests as they fulfil as specialised requirement of the guests. Family rooms enable a family to stay together in one room instead of splitting in different rooms; apartment hotels give you a feeling of staying at home while you stay in the hotel and enjoy the beauty of London.
