Understanding the Gestational Surrogacy Process
Written by Dandy Rockwell
Today, the most followed surrogacy procedure is the gestational surrogacy process. It is the type of surrogacy where the surrogate mother will carry the child that was conceived by using the intended couples’ sperm and eggs or using the donor’s sperm and eggs. In this type of surrogacy, the surrogate carrier is not biologically linked to the child. To retrieve and fertilize the eggs from the female partner, a process called InVitro Fertilization (IVF) is required. The sperm and eggs will then be combined to create embryos and selected number of embryos will be transferred to the uterus of the Florida surrogate mother.
Gestational surrogacy is thought to carry less risk because the child is not biologically attached with the surrogate mother. But to be safe and to protect all the rights of all involved, a contract should be made before the process will start. There are several issues to be determined such as legal matters, medical and financial.
2 Types of Surrogacy Options
Surrogacy is the agreement between a surrogate mother and intended parents to carry and nurture a child from conception until birth. The process of surrogacy can be classified into two main types:
1. Traditional surrogacy – in traditional surrogacy the surrogate mother will be an egg donor for the conception of the child. It is very important that at least one of the intended parents would use their own sperm cells for the conception of the child to avoid any legal conflicts from traditional surrogacy.
2. Gestational surrogacy – in gestational surrogacy both parents own eggs and sperms will be used for the conception of the child. There are also instances that another egg donor is required for the conception.
The best surrogates are in Florida, Florida surrogates can provide reliable surrogacy services to intended parents. Since surrogacy is legal in Florida there are laws and stipulations that protect both intended parents and surrogate mothers.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Surrogate Agencies
Surrogacy can be a life changing decision for intended parents and surrogate mothers. For intended parents who chose surrogacy as the option to have a biological child of their own and for surrogate mothers who would like to make a difference in the world by helping others, one of the best options is to review and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using surrogate agencies.
Disadvantages of surrogate agencies include:
1. Extra cost – enlisting the help of surrogate agencies would cost extra. If you are on a tight budget this could be a problem.
2. Strict agency rules – most surrogate agencies implement a strict guideline on their surrogacy process. It can get difficult to negotiate surrogacy fees and costs.
Advantages of using surrogate agencies:
1. Experts on matching the perfect surrogate mothers for intended parents. The primary role of a surrogate agency would be to provide the best ideal surrogate mother for intended parents.
2. Can facilitate compensation or reasonable expenses discussion. Agencies usually will act as a third party and go between the surrogate and her intended parents, helping the compensation discussions.
Enlisting the reliable services of surrogate agencies may cost extra but considering all the great help for a hassle free process on surrogacy it will all be worth it. Surrogate agency Florida is well known for its quality and professional services for intended parents and surrogate mothers.
