Valley of flower nestled in West Himalayas in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Valley of flowers was declared a national park in 1982, and in 1988 valley of flowers was inscribed under UNESCO World Heritage List. Since 2004, Valley of flowers along with Nanda Devi Biosphere reserves listed in UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves. Valley boosts various endemic alpine flowers & sustains around 300 species of flower-like Geranium, Marsh marigold, Himalayan blue poppy, Aconitum, Delphinium, Ranunculus, Morina, Geum, Asters, Braham Kamal, and many others. The valley of flower gets various blooming colourful flowers from July till September. At different altitude, the valley embraces different alpine vegetation which makes it richly diverse area & home to variety Fauna and Flora. It also houses the rare and endangered animals like Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, brown bear, and blue sheep. Valley Of Flowers covers an area of 87.5 sq km.
