Vijay Eswaran

Dato Vijay Eswaran is the co-founder and Executive Chairman of the QI Group of Companies. The QI Group, co-founded by Dr. Eswaran in 1998 is an e-commerce based conglomerate with businesses diversified into retail and direct sales, telecommunications, lifestyle and leisure, luxury and collectibles, education, training and conference management, property development and logistics. Dr. Vijay Eswaran completed his higher education in leading universities in UK and the USA and has an impressive track record of working for top rung companies including IBM, in very responsible positions in the US, Europe, Australia and Canada, before returning to Asia in the early 90s, when he decided to turn entrepreneur.

In 1998, he led a team of like-minded individuals to found a direct selling and training company that today has grown into the multi-business conglomerate, the QI Group. The 13-year old QI Group has regional offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand and a presence in nearly 30 countries through a wide range of subsidiary companies. Dr. Vijay Eswaran is also a highly respected motivational speaker, and lectures around the world on a variety of subjects ranging from spirituality to business. He has spoken at leading universities, management and business & leadership forums such as World Economic Forum events and Commonwealth Business Forums at CHOGM.

A prominent philanthropist, he has established the RYTHM Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the QI Group that is involved in philanthropic activities around the world. In Malaysia he has established RF’s local chapter, the Vijayaratnam Foundation in his Father’s honor that works with local NGOs and other charitable organizations on various projects for child mentoring, youth development, women empowerment and special education. He has been named in Forbes Asia’s annual list of Heroes of Philanthropy in 2011. Most recently, he was awarded the lifetime achievement award in Regional Philanthropy by leading independent think tank Asian Strategic Leadership Institute in Malaysia at the 3rd World Chinese Economic Forum. He has also been conferred with the International Leader in Global Business Strategies award by the GOPIO, the Global Organization for People of Indian Origin.

Vijay Eswaran is also a best-selling author who has also penned the highly successful book In the Sphere of Silence, a book on life management that has been hailed widely in different countries in multiple languages. He also has three other books to his credit – In the Thinking Zone, 18 Stepping Stones, On the Wings of Thought. He also regularly contributes to newspaper columns in Malaysia and Sri Lanka.
