Vitamins for hair growth

The lack of vitamins in the body will unable to produce new hair, and old hair is likely to fall out. The most commonly used Vitamins for hair growth are the B-Vitamins, Vitamin C, A, H and Vitamin E.
It is the deficiency of B vitamins (especially B6, biotin, inositol and folic acid) in your diet that leads to hair loss. The body needs plenty of vitamins for promoting health fitness, but there are some specific natural vitamins for hair growth like B5 (pantothenic acid and B3 (niacin).

• Vitamin A: This vitamin is an antioxidant that helps produce healthy sebum in the scalp. Food sources: Fish liver oil, meat, milk, cheese, eggs, spinach, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, apricots and peaches.
• Vitamin C: It is an antioxidant that helps maintain skin and hair health. Food sources: Citrus fruits, strawberries, kiwi, cantaloupe, pineapple, tomatoes, green peppers, potatoes and dark green vegetables. They work towards maintaining hair health.
• Vitamin E: This vitamin is an antioxidant that enhances scalp circulation. Food sources: Cold-pressed vegetable oils, wheat germ oil, soybeans, raw seeds and nuts, dried beans, and leafy green vegetables. Intake of this vitamin can raise blood pressure and reduce blood clotting. Those under high blood pressure medication would need clearance from their doctors.
• Vitamin H or Biotin: The foremost vitamin needed for hair growth is Vitamin H or Biotin. It has been called as “the hair vitamin” also because it prevents the hair from thinning. Your body requires biotin to metabolize carbohydrates, fats, and amino acids, the building blocks of protein. • Vitamin B12: Prevents hair loss. Rich food sources include chicken, fish, eggs and milk.
Stress, illness, a poor diet, and certain medications can add to accelerated hair loss and awfully slow hair growth. Many whole foods contain bio-available vitamins, but adding supplements to the diet increases the nutrition available in the blood stream to stimulate hair growth. However, one should be careful of over consumption. The supplements should be added on the doctor’s recommendation.
