“I keep wondering if this is all there is. I hope not, because I want more – more from myself, and more from my business.” This is what one of my clients recently said to me. And she’s not the only one. All of my clients want more – and I’m definitely familiar with this feeling myself. When I asked what it was she wanted more off, she didn’t really know. It was a vague, yet nagging feeling. (It usually is.) I helped her get clear on what it is she really wanted, and which actions she could take to get it. These steps helped her get clear and take action – they might help you too: rnStep 1: Allow it. Allow yourself to dream big, want more, and RECEIVE more. This step is HUGE. So many women have trouble with this. Here’s what I often hear them say: ‘Who am I to dream this big?’ ‘Who am I to think I can actually pull this off?’ ‘I already have so much to be grateful for, it’s not spiritual/ethical/OK to want even more. I should just be happy and satisfied with what I have right now.’ Allow yourself to be, do, want, and have more. Why wouldn’t you? Step 2: Define what ‘more’ means to you What is it you want more of? Start with tangible results you can measure: Do you want more clients? If so, how many per day/week/month/year? Per program, product or service? Do you want more money? How much exactly? What do you want to make per day/week/month/year/product/program/service? What feeling do you want to experience more? What is the overall feeling you want to have about your business? Choose one. And what’s the overall feeling you want to have about your life? Choose one. Any other things or feelings you want more of? If you’re not sure or can’t think of anything else, ask yourself this final question: What would you like to get rid of? And what does that tell you about what you DO want? Step 3: Why? Why do you want more of the things you listed in step 2? Why does it matter? How much do you want it? Why? Step 4: What can you do? What action(s) can you take? What daily habit, action or practice helps you get more of what you want? Step 5: What can you let go of? Is there something you should stop doing (or believing) in order to get more of what you want? In my experience, most people ALWAYS know at least one thing they can do or let go of. When you think you don’t know, it’s usually because you don’t want to do it, for whatever reason. (And that reason is usually some type of fear or doubt.) “The problem is not that we don’t know what to do. The problem is we don’t do what we know.” ~ C. Argyris Now there’s only one thing left to do: GO! :-) Your time is now. “I just heard them call your name… The Gods…The Ancients…. The Universe…The All Knowing…All Seeing… They whispered…it’s time…it’s time for YOU to be YOU. It’s time for you to love more, give more, be more, live more. It’s time…and that time is NOW.” Nick Ortner
