It is believed that when a person takes bath in either of these springs, it purifies the body as well as the soul. The other important places around Badrinath are the Five Badris and Vyas Cave that are located in the village called Mana.

The Keda
ath Temple is said to be the abode of Lord Shiva. It is located near river Mandakini and is also known for the Samadhi of Adi Shankaracharya. Keda
ath is among the twelve Jyotirlings in India and it is believed that Lord Shiva is present here in the form of cosmic light. The temple has the Garbha Griha where the main deity resides and a mandap for the lilgrims. The temple is covered with snow peaks all around.
