Ways to Diversify Oneâs Income
Written by Orie Holley
Expanding your online income is one of the essential things you must know when you have a website.
Supposing you have most of your ads with Google AdSense. Let’s suppose it makes up 90% of your website's earnings. Supposing Google will suspend your account! What would you do if you lose 90% of your website’s revenue? Would you be able to recover immediately? For most, it would be very difficult.
So if you have a website, expand your earnings by not only utilizing Pay Per Click sponsors, but perhaps use a Direct Leads sponsor, a pay per action or PPA sponsor, or even promote other products or services and get paid a commission per sale.
You just need to view the performance of your website. Make sure that you are checking your stats to see which banners and ads are doing well and swap out the ones that aren't performing as well. Alternating you banners every few months is also a wise idea. One must to do this because your visitors will soon overlook all your ads and banners as they become “banner blind”.
Creating other websites is another way of expanding one’s profit. At this time, I have more than a few sites that I build earnings from. Google banned one of my sites from their search engine roughly 4 months ago! Among internet marketers, this is a common occurrence. Apparently my website had several outgoing links to sponsor ads and they considered it a "link farm". But that site at the time was earning me around $1000/month. If I didn't have all of my other sites to pick up the slack, can you imagine the mess that could have happened?
Another way to diversify your websites is to have a number of them on various servers. These days, it’s cheap to host a website. Supposing you throw one or two of them up on a $5.99 a month server and pay for a year's worth of hosting, you're doing the right thing. Not only does it have search engine benefits, but if one of your servers should go down, not all of your sites are down at once.
If you want to earn the most money online then you absolutely need to expand your income streams.
