Your bones are important to your body because they offer support for you to stand, sit and move around. Your bones also offer protection for the organs that are in your body so that they aren't damaged. If it weren't for the bones, then you would be nothing more than a limp bundle of skin and other parts that don't have any kind of form. If you have weak bones, there are a few ways that you can improve your density so that you're a stronger person.

Add Vegetables to the Diet

You've probably been told from the time you were little that it's important to eat your vegetables. Your parents weren't just trying to get you to eat green beans, corn and other healthy foods for no reason. Vegetables have vitamins and minerals that the bones need to stay strong. They are full of vitamin C, a vitamin that can stimulate the reproduction of cells in the bones. Focus on eating green and yellow vegetables as these have more vitamin C in them and help with increasing the bone mineral density.

Take a Supplement

There are a few supplements that you can take each day, but you shouldn't' rely on taking a supplement to completely fulfill your calcium intake or to restore the density in the bones. According to AlgaeCal, combining calcium supplements with other types of supplements can increase your bone density. If you take a supplement, try to take it at the same time every day so that the body becomes adjusted to the source of calcium or other vitamins.

Exercise Regularly

When you exercise, you're building strong muscles, losing weight and building strong bones. High-impact exercises and those that involve using weights are best for increasing bone density. These exercises can also increase the muscle mass, which will help to protect the bones from damage.

Eat the Proper Foods

Instead of eating a lot of junk food or sugary foods during the day, eat foods that have high amounts of protein, vitamin D, potassium, and zinc. Enjoy a combination of foods that have the essential vitamins and minerals that the body needs to stay healthy and to keep the bones strong. It's not all about the calcium as some people might think. Each vitamin and mineral work together to shape the body.

You only have one set of bones in your life. It's important to take care of the bones so that you're protected and so that you can move around with ease. With eating the proper foods and getting enough exercise, you can begin to build bone density that has been lost so that you are healthy.
