What are Binary Options?

Binary options, also known as fixed return or digital options, are simple as well as exciting way of trading in the financial markets. They basically include trading based on the fluctuations of the price of the asset within a specific time period. If you succeed in getting the prediction right then you will earn a payout for that particular asset. This payout is usually 70-85% of the value of the trade. Types of Binary Options There are different types of Binary options, which can be used to conduct Binary options trading. These mostly include the cash-or-nothing binary options, the no-touch binary options, the double-one-touch and double-no-touch binary options, the one-touch binary options and many more. Out of these, the cash-or-nothing binary options are highly popular and are also known as Call or Put options. How to conduct binary options trading? To start with binary options trading, you first need to open an account with a broker. Once you have a broker in place you then need to choose an underlying asset from the market and then select an expiration time and conduct your analysis. Once done, you then need to pick the most appropriate option based on your analysis and if you succeed you earn lot of money but if you lose then you will end-up with no money. The basics of Binary Options Trading There are a few basics that you need to master to ensure that you properly trade in binary options. These mostly include knowing what asset to trade, knowing the direction in which the price of the option is moving, the expiry date of the option and its relativity to the current price and many more. Calculating the value of binary options For call options To help you to calculate the value of binary options, let us take an example of an imaginary stock XYZ. Suppose you have invested $100 in Call option of XYZ which has a return of 72% and if the value of XYZ is $44.25, then there will be two outcomes at the time of the expiration: -If the value of XYZ is greater than $44.25 you will receive $172 whereas if the value of the XYZ at the time of expiration is less than $44.25 then you will not receive a single dollar. For Put options In put options, the investor makes profit when the price of the underlying asset is lower than the strike price. Let us take an example here: Suppose that you have invested $100 in XYZ stock with a 72% return and suppose that the value of the XYZ at strike point is $50 then there will be two possible outcomes: 1.However, if the value of XYZ at expiration is less than $50 then you will receive $172. 2.If the value of XYZ at expiration is greater than $50 then you will not receive a single penny.
