In fact, there is nothing wrong with the fact you lose money when playing poker. Statistics say that 95% of all poker players lose at the tables, which is nothing extraordinary, since most of them are playing for entertainment. There are lots of serious articles about successful poker tactics, but if you are tired of these difficult analysis and are still interested in why you are losing, here are some funny reasons that affect your game and leave you in a losing position and some simple advices.

First, if you think that the movie "Rounders" is an excellent tutorial, don’t even think about sitting down at a poker table.

Second, check your ever so cool sunglasses – they just might reflect pocket cards to your opponents. Another problem with sunglasses is that you can’t really see your cards through them properly.

Don’t be too focused on the waitress spinning around with a cocktail tray in her hands and of course, don’t try to impress a girl sitting at the table by showing her what a great guy you are.

So, if you lose constantly you are most likely to play like a looser at pre-flop stage. It means you can’t fold the hand even when realizing that after the flop you will lose the whole game. If you play pocket unsuited 10-4 because it's your lucky combination, you will never win money in poker. Another part of the problem can be found in folding too often. You need to play to get more chips, increase your stack and earn money. And of course, the position is very important in this game, if you don’t understand this – don’t play poker.

If a pair of Jacks is the worst hand in poker for you because you do not know how to play it, you will never be able to earn anything. If you are afraid of a flop containing higher cards, and if you are worried about your opponents’ connectors even if there are no Queens, Kings or Aces left in the game, don’t go outdoors because it’s probably more dangerous to you than playing poker.

If you play cash games like tournaments and behave the same way in tournaments than in cash games, you will lose.

There are a lot of people watching out for others' mistakes so desperately, that they don’t notice their own and as a result are the worst players at the table.

If you are convinced that online poker is too rigged simply don’t play poker.
If you think you are the most perfect poker player in the world, it is most likely that in reality the world is quite the contrary. If you think you are an awful poker player, it is most likely that you are absolutely right. The only correct attitude towards poker really, is “I am not bad but still have a lot to learn”.

And of course, you will surely lose when playing drunk or under the influence of drugs, as well as when playing against Phil Ivey.

These are funny reasons to make you smile and to look on yourself ironically. But a true word is spoken in jest.
