What Do You Want to Do With Your Life?

Everyone has a wish to make the best of his life! You too have a similar aim, don’t you?
So are you decided, what do you want to do with your life?

Not yet?! Then, come let us try together and figure it out, today...

Step 1: Identify what you want to be best at?
This will tell you what work you ought to do in life.
It could be anything... anything that you would love to do or you think you can nicely do.

And if what you’d love to do benefits others too, just go for it!
Human life is for helping others. So help people. Look for doing something that is good for all.
At the least, maintain a sincere intention to live your life in a manner that no living being gets hurt by you; because our next life is the result of our karmas of this life!

Step 2: Identify what is the ultimate thing that you want in life?
This will help you set the goal, you ought to have, in life.
Close your eyes and imagine, what do you yearn for in life? Do not limit your imagination worrying about how, when and from where will it come? Just identify it!
Done?

So, you now have before your eyes a clear picture of the ultimate thing that you feel makes you happy in life. Now decide would you like to pursue this as your goal in life? Does it excite you enough? Is it fulfilling?
If yes, set it to be your goal of life! Thereafter, remind yourself of this goal atleast 25 times a day, it keeps you vigilant and aware of your goal. Remain sincere to your goal; never allow yourself to get disheartened or weary, just keep giving your cent percent to it, and you will surely win one day!

Step 3: Who is he / she whom you look upto in life?
This will tell you who should be your guiding light in life!!
Every person is influenced by some great person that he/she has met or heard about in his life.
Find out who is your role model? Who is the person you hold in high-esteem, whom you respect and adore the most, and like whom you want to become in life?... Follow this great person closely and very soon you will see his values being naturally imbibed inside you, and your life being silently guided and motivated by his ideals. This will comfortably sail you through your life!

Step 4: What company do you like to keep?
This will tell you whether you are preparing a recipe for success or a recipe for disaster in your life.
If you want to do something great with your life, it will demand from you an equally great effort. Great accomplishments never come easy, but they will not seem or prove difficult to you when you are happy and motivated; when you are staying in the company of those who promote the attainment of your goal.

And even when there is nothing extraordinary that you may want to do with your life, at the least maintain a goal to hang around in the company of good-natured people, who cherish moral values and principles in life; and avoid bad company as much as possible.

The above steps, when pieced together, shall provide you the answer to ‘what do you want to do with your life’.
I too have sought my answers and you may feel free to choose them as your answers, if you like them!

1.Want to open a Store of Happiness! ‘I feel happy when I see the other person happy’. So, why not open a store that gives out happiness to everyone who visits the store. I want to use my mind, body and speech to help others and make them happy. Of what use is our life if someone does not gain any happiness after meeting us? Nevertheless, I also want to maintain a sincere intent that I do not want to hurt any living being in the slightest degree.

2.The ultimate thing that I want in life is the experience of happiness that never leaves.
I can experience permanent happiness only when I realize through experience that ‘I am not the body, I am a Soul.’ But all scriptures say that I cannot do this on my own; Gnani Purush, the Enlightened One, alone can make this possible for me.

Therefore, my goal in life is to somehow meet a Living Gnani Purush, who is able to impart the Knowledge of the Self to me. And for this I would like to include in my daily prayers a sincere intent to meet the Living Gnani as soon as possible, so that I attai
Self Realization from Him; follow His given principles and experience permanent happiness one day.

3.My role model is the Gnani Purush.
I have read in books that: ‘If one wants to acquire the supreme love, a love that this world has not seen, heard, believed or experienced before, then one should worship the Gnani Purush, who is the living embodiment of love. One can never find anything comparable to the love of Gnani in this world. If one were to experience this love and oneness of being with the Gnani just once in his life, he would surrender himself completely and constantly meditate on Him. He will never be able to forget that love for even a moment! Gnani will always be in his memory, irrespective of being bound by life’s miseries!’

So, Gnani is the one whom I adore the most! Gnani Purush graces us and gives us eternal bliss, something for which we remain eternally grateful to Him.

4.I would like to meet Gnani and remain in His company.
All along, I have always done what protects my ego and self-esteem. But after listening to the Gnani, I realize that ego is the root cause of all miseries in my life. Therefore now, I would like to remain in the company of Gnani and put into application whatever He says in order to protect my Soul, my real Self. With Him, all my goals in life will be accomplished, all my puzzles will be solved and I will attain liberation. Wouldn’t that be great?!

All said and done, meeting the Gnani is the greatest accomplishment in life!!
