If you are to be safe while you drive, you must keep your vehicle in the pink of health and glory. But that's an understatement and does not need much explanation. However, the point that needs to be considered here is that, when it comes to taking care of your vehicle to keep it in the pink of condition, it not only involves taking care of its mechanical biology but the tyres as well. They need to be in the best condition, to be on the safer side while you are at the wheels. That is the reason every noted driving school anywhere in the world would pass over some tips for their trainees so that they can gauge the health of the tyres of their vehicles. This is one of the most important chapters of the driving lessons conducted at every driving school in Sunbury like anywhere else. Here on this page, we discuss some of the ways to realise that all is not well with the tyres.

Checking the Depth of the Tread

The tread that you find in your tyres is meant to offer an optimal amount of grip on the road surface in dry as well as wet conditions. As per the thumb rule, the depth of the treads must not decrease below 1/16 of an inch in terms of depth, though it may slightly vary depending upon the manufacturers. There are a number of ways to measure the tread depth. Though the penny test is an old, traditional method, modern tyres come with small indicators between the grooves of the treads in the form of small blocks. When you find these blocks pronounced or almost of the same height and the treads, you need to change it immediately.

Driving Time

Tyres wear out with time and there’s nothing unusual in it. That is why, you ought to replace them after a considerable period, no matter how they look like. That's what the mentors of every driving school in Epping or any other place would suggest to their trainees.

Punctures or Cracks in sidewalls

If you notice micro crack lines and punctures on the sidewalls of the tyres, it is a sign that says the rubber deteriorating. If ignored, it will lead to a blowout, which can have catastrophic consequences, when you are driving at a high speed. Though the modern radial tyres have multiple layers of beadings embedded beneath the tread and the shoulders, the side walls are purposefully designed softer, allowing the tyre to flex when the vehicle drives through a rough surface. However, if the sidewalls have ruptured or have developed signs of wear and tear, it needs to be immediately scrapped.

Formation of Blisters and Bulges

In case you find the outer surface of the tyre weakened, with the formation of bulges and blisters, that's a sign that the outer surface is extending further outwards. The trainers in driving schools in Lalor as in any other place would suggest replacing the tyres sooner than later.

Besides, if you feel an unusual vibration even when you are driving on smooth roads, it can very well be a case of a defective tyre. Well, the ability to develop this ability to ascertain abnormality in vibration might not develop overnight and it's something only seasoned drivers can understand, the other signs are very much palpable and need to be addressed timely and with utmost care and caution.
