Are you someone who loves to attend personal development courses? Well, you are in luck because I am just like you. I don’t mind people calling me a course junkie, because I know that I have personally benefitted from many of these. Today, I would like to share with you a bit of my life’s experiences in such workshops and seminars.
The first thing that I have learnt from personal development courses is that they are really life changing. You get to see things from different perspectives. The reality is that in order to succeed in life, you need to have a mentor to mentor you. Without one, you will probably end up wasting a number of years of your life just learning how to succeed. The most successful people of today were once mentored by others. People like T. Harv Eker, Bob Proctor, and Anthony Robbins. The list goes on and on, but these people have looked up to someone else at one point in time in their lives.
Personal development courses give all of us hope. Here is another reality. Most of these people who are now successful started out as nobodies. I recently attended a workshop and the speaker said that when he was young, he was diagnosed by the doctors as a retard. Today, he has mentored other success stories and is very successful himself. You do not need to be extremely talented if you want to succeed in life. All you need is the courage to take the leap of faith, the willingness to learn the right techniques from others, and the perseverance to keep going even when you fail.
You may be surprised as to why I never mentioned the immediate benefit of such seminars, which is the fact that you have the opportunity to improve your skills. That is no doubt a big benefit, but I feel that the other two benefits that I pointed out earlier carry more weight. You can improve yourself as much as you want but the risk is that you may walk around blindly trying to figure out which way to go, or you may not believe in yourself. Having a mentor give you a shortcut as he or she can point you in the right direction and empower you.
I hope you have benefitted from my sharing about my experiences at personal development courses. I hope you will appreciate them as much as I do too.
