What is MiniRAE?

MiniRAE is a high tech handheld device used to detect volatile organic compound (VOC) found in industrial area. In simple words, it can be defined as an instrument equipped with poisonous gas detection feature. This advance device can detect any specific toxic gas in a confined area and provide warning if the level of gases goes up. This device is widely used in factories, manufacturing industries, mines, refineries and almost every place where organic chemicals are used. The necessity of MiniRAE in workplaces arose when increasing industrialization start producing the surging level of toxic gases, leading to the recorded number of health issues in workers and staffs.
MiniRAE is available in two versions at present, namely MiniRAE 300o and MiniRAE Lite. Both of them differ in features and are idea for different purposes.
• MiniRAE 3000
MiniRAE 3000 is integrated with Photoionization Detector (PID) with extended range of 0 to 15,000 ppm. This feature makes it an ideal device for industrial hygiene applications like detecting HazMat or leakage. The device is equipped with RF modem so as to enable users experience real-time data transmissions. It comes with a base controller. This controller can be installed up to as far as 500 feet or approximately 2 miles away from the actual MiniRAE 3000 device and can still detect the required gases. This model can be also used with computer as a base station for which ProRAE Remote (standard software) is available.
• MiniRAE Liter
The MiniRAE Lite is another model designed to monitor volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in various industries. It belongs to the range of UltraRAE and MiniRAE 3000 products. Originally, this model was designed for environmental field, but is now also proved to be suitable for construction areas, to monitor in-house solvents and spill response. This is also has Photo-Ionization Detection (PID) feature having range of 0 to 5,000 parts per million. The added benefits that differentiate it from MiniRAE 3000 are in-built humidity and temperature compensation. Unlike other MiniRAE devices, MiniRAE Lite has a three seconds response time which is the fastest of any device available in the market today.
In order to maintain hygiene in industrial areas and to prevent workers’ health issues, in many nations government has made it mandatory to use of this device as s part of human rights. Since the time MiniRAE and its different versions have been introduced, the death toll of workers at workplace due to unexpected poisonous gas leakage has significantly came down. Considering its benefits many countries are working out to promote its uses in poisonous gas prone areas.
