An old belief that runs all over the Indian kitchens is "Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince and Dine like a Pauper”. This infact is true to the knowledge of science, considering the fact that breakfast is the very first meal of a man and it should consume 25% of the days’ calories. Glucose and proteins the main source of energy and the building blocks of human body are retrieved from milk, carbohydrates from bread and Vitamin C from fruits are enough to make a man strong for a days’ work. rnSkipping breakfast has been a bad habit for many which increase acidity, often leads to poor concentration, irritability, low blood sugar levels and a high craving for food in mid morning or lunch. Such symptoms gain more body weight leading to obesity. However, we are not so concern about discussing health issues here. The topic clearly emphasizes on the discussion about the lunch and dinner habits of Indore. rnThe Lunch and Dinner arrangements in Indore are quite heavy as they comprise of chapattis, dal, rice and at least 2 vegetables, supplemented by raita made of fresh curd, papad, pickle, chutney and salad of course. rnMadhya Pradesh offers a more varied platter. Poha Galebi being the most talked about subject in the business capital of Madhya Pradesh i.e. Indore. Anyone visiting Indore cannot miss the food and chat stalls at every corner. The most flourishing business of Indoris is the food catering business. Samosa, Kachori (– Allu kachori and Dal kachori), Poha-jalebi, are the most ordered items at breakfast in the 56 Dukkans, Indore. The breakfast served with hot tea or coffee makes a complete early morning diet for an Indori. Restaurants in Indore talk about sharing a huge menu which includes certain typical Indori food. The sev ki bhaji is one of the most peculiar dishes often served during wedding and parties. A place near Indore is famous for its ‘sev’, known as Ratlami Sev which is again a main ingredient to garnish most of the chaats in Indore. Stuffed paranthas, upmas, are counted under a secondary menu. rnOther than the above mentioned food items, in the monsoons, the corn remains one of the most important ingredient in snacks and main course. People in Indore are so fond of food that any new person who happens to visit Indore is sure to develop more tastes both spicy and sweet.
