Medications

NSAID ointment

There are non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory called crisaborole which are used to treat eczema. Taking twice a day has been effective in reducing inflammation, and thus it helps the skin to return to a regular appearance.

Corticosteroid pills

These are powerful drugs which help to relieve symptoms eczema. You are suggested to take them for a short time as there is a risk for side effects like skin damage or bone loss.

Antibiotics:

Sometimes there are bacteria which get under the skin and cause infections. These medicines can treat bacterial skin infections. Antibacterial medications like zudaifu cream can be applied to skin sterilization and bacteriostases like rotting aureus or fungus.

Phototherapy

Ultraviolet light can help treat eczema. Moderate UV rays can help to keep the immune system safe from overreacting. But too much UV can raise risk for skin cancer. So it is suggested to doctors to use the lowest possible dose. There are two ways to get phototherapy: One is in dermatologist’s office, by exposing your skin to UVA or UVB rays. Another is taking psoralen, which makes the skin more sensitive to UVA that it can absorb more. But the second process is generally for the people who haven’t got results from UV therapy.

Skin Care tips to apply at Home:

By keeping your skin healthy, you can prevent itching, redness, dryness. Try below tips: • Try to bathe only in warm water as hot water dries out skin. Use a gentle cleanser instead of soap or body scrubbers; these can be irritating. • Try to apply moisturizers on skin daily right after you bathe or wash your hands. • Avoid too much hand washing to get rid of dry skin. • Avoid your contact with skin irritants like cleaners or laundry detergents or things that can make eczema worse. Search on Google and learn what can irritate your skin so that you can avoid it. • Avoid Wool and synthetic clothes as these can be irritating, try to choose cotton clothes that fit well. Remember to wash new clothes before you wear them for the first time. • Avoid too much hot and humid weather. Try to rinse off right away in a warm shower after a workout. Try to lower your stress level. It may be hard to find time to relax, will it help you avoid symptom flare-ups.
