As you may know breaking up with your long term partner causes so many different emotions such as pain, anguish, sadness, depression, guilt as well as missing them. You go through a roller coaster of emotions but the main questionrnwhich plays in your mind what should I do to get my ex back.

You will find many ebooks, sites, forums and courses dedicated to answering this question but what a lot of people don't realize is that simple common sense and a little courtesy can really make a big impact to your relationship after a breakup.

If you are finding the question what should i do to get my ex back is eating away at you then you will find following some simple steps will give you a better chance of getting back together.

The most important thing is be honest and not lead your partner on. Many people like to play games to give themself some sort of misguided power trip. They do this by making the their partner believe they really care (more than they
really do) or make it out like they don't really care when they really do inside. This may feel satisfying at the time but will be short lived and is damaging in the long run.

In addition to this a few people use the jealousy tactic and make it out they are dating someone else or pretend they are interested in someone else. Whilst this can work in certain circumstances where the ex wants you back as they jealous you are with someone else, it can also majorly backfire on you leading to your ex moving on permanently with no chance of you making up since you are now perceived as being with someone else.

You should realize that any further relationship you may have with your ex partner will be tainted with these lies or tricks and they will catch up with you sooner or later.

Don't be mean. Anger amongst other emotional traits can cloud your judgement and cause you to be more blunt and nasty than you would normally be. Instead try to be calm and logical when speaking to your ex. The mere fact that you are even thinking of what should I do to get my ex back whilst being hurt means you a ready to forgive and forget. It may not seem like it at the time but if you weren't then you would be moving on and not thinking of getting back.

Look at how you have been behaving yourself. Try to think in your ex's shoes and think about if you were your ex would you like to spend time with you or even simply talk to them? Do you have a tendancy to nag or shout? You might
start thinking of past issues or grievances to bring up, resist this temptation and bite your tongue. The last thing you want to do is push your ex away, you can work out your differences later. You want to attract your ex at this stage not drive them away.

You need to be on your best behavior and try to remind your ex what attracted them to you in the first place. This should bring back the happier memories and give you a better chance of getting back together.

The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it.
