What to do when a Samsung Warranty is out of date
Written by jenifer smith
My 40” TV packed in not so long ago and when I checked the Samsung Warranty it was two weeks out of date! Talk about miffed, I couldn’t believe it, had the Samsung Warranty still been valid I could have got the television fixed through the manufacturer. It was almost like the television was working in partnership with the Samsung Warranty, you could imagine them collaborating and the warranty saying to the telly, “I’ve just expired why not break down for a laugh?” Anyway, rant over I was left with a defunct LCD TV a useless Samsung Warranty and nothing to watch my daily fix of reality TV on. Then I had a brainwave (yes they do happen from time to time!) I remembered an advert I’d seen for Sony Repairs maybe the same company could also complete Samsung repairs as well.
What did I do?
I rang the number of course and explained my situation the helpful chap at the other end. I told him about my Samsung Warranty expiring and mentioned I’d seen his advert for Sony Repairs. Apparently it’s not uncommon for TVs to develop faults once their Samsung Warranty has expired. It makes you wonder if the manufacturers do it on purpose and it’d be interesting to see how many TVs break down once their Samsung Warranty goes out of date. Still, that wasn’t getting my telly fixed so even though my Samsung Warranty had expired I managed to book a cost effective repair through an approved electronic store.
It’s easier than you think!
Okay it was a bit annoying to find my Samsung Warranty out of date but that didn’t stop me from getting my HD TV fixed. Yes I had to pay for the repair out of my own pocket but that’s what happens when a Samsung Warranty expires. To be honest the cost of Samsung or Sony Repairs isn’t that dear, it’s actually way cheaper than it costs to buy a new television even if it does come with a new Samsung Warranty. My telly is back to its brilliant best now and I no longer care that my Samsung Warranty has expired.
