What To Do When It All Hits the Fan!

Sometimes things just don’t go the way we want them to. Everything hits the fan. We are besieged by problems and crises.

These problems or crises show us what we are made of. They help us grow. They almost always precede any leap to a higher level.

Heroes are forged in the crucible of adversity – Cowards too.

The problems and challenges that we face can either make us or break us, either build us or bust us.

You are not alone.
Everybody faces challenges. Everybody faces tragedy. Everybody has traumatic experiences in their lives. Everybody has those days when nothing goes right and our dreams are dashed upon the shoals of reality.

The secret is in how we deal with those times. How we endure. How we overcome.

It says in the ancient wisdom, “You shall receive no witness until after the trial of your faith.”

So we welcome you to your trials, and hope that this book will be a comfort and a guide to you in times of hardship.

This too shall pass.
The first secret to handling crises is to maintain a sense of equanimity—a mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper.

Sunshine always follows rain. Spring always follows winter. The universe operates in waves and cycles, never in a straight line.

If things are hard now, they will be easier later. It is the way of the world in which we live.

Remember the temporariness of all things.
We live in a temporal world. And the temporal world is a temporary world. All things shall pass and become as the dust. Each thing has its own natural lifespan. There truly is a season to every purpose under heaven.

Pain and hell are the result of our attachment to things being the way that they were, an insistence on permanence in an impermanent world. But this contradicts the laws of entropy, evolution, and eternal growth.

Things must change. They must grow. They must evolve. They must deteriorate and then be born anew.

Be willing to see things as they really are and to accept them with an open heart. Be humble when things are going well; be reflective when they are going poorly.

Even life itself is transient and fleeting, a glorious burst of fire in the night sky, as we realize that none of us is going home alive.

It is all one eternal circle.
Breathe deeply. Feel the life coursing through your veins. Know that you live in a world of infinite possibilities. It stands before you, waiting for you to create it any way that your heart desires and your mind can conceive.

For time is a river that flows into the past, leaving not one drop of what was before us, and presenting us only with the new possibility of a brighter tomorrow.
